A small take home, short answer/essay assignment.
Goal: To examine two relationships and their Cause and Effect and to analyze Judgement's made by characters
Analyzing stories can take many forms. It is up to the reader to understand and
recognize which aspect of the story is important and what does the author want
you to focus on. We have spent 4 weeks
analyzing and talking about Julius Caesar. Now it is time for you to take a
closer look at the following concepts.
Cause and Effect Relationships & Judgements
When talking about Cause and Effect Relationships it is
important to understand there is a reaction to one’s actions no matter if it is
through physical actions or what is said in conversation. There is always a result from one’s actions
which either helps the plot or takes away from the plot. In a well written 2-3 paragraph response,
choose one relationship in the story and describe the cause and effect nature
of their relationship. Remember to talk
about certain scenes or situations to help support your analysis. Think of this as an observation of character
through their actions and words in the first paragraph. In the second paragraph is where you should
describe the cause and effects.
Judgements are commonly used for a variety of purposes. Some
may say it is human nature to place judgment on those around us. Judgements are used for decision making
purposes. From the story, find 2
examples of where judgement has taken place (Choose one good and one bad). Describe the judgments and talk about the
result of making the judgment. Was the
judgment necessary? Who did the judgment
benefit? This answer should be 2-3 paragraphs.
This is an assignment so it should be treated like one. No title page is necessary and please be very
clear what each paragraph is describing.
