Caesar Project

Hello Grade 10's.  I will not be in class until Friday.  You are responsible for your own reading of Catcher in the Rye, Quiz coming soon! Possibly Monday.

Also, you have Monday-Wednesday to begin work on this assignment.  This is the only class time you have to work on it so use your time wisely.  If I hear that any group was wasting their time, believe me, I have plenty of things for you to do, so work!  Any questions you are to ask me through email

Good day to all of you.  Here is your major assignment for this term.  Read this carefully and begin as early as possible!  Good luck!

The Tragedy of Julius Caesar – Group Assignment – Grade 10

Member’s Names:

1. Choose a scene from Julius Caesar and write it below.  Translate the text into a modern version as it would sound in today’s society.  Present the scene to the class using video.  All the lines must be either memorized or you could you use a dub-over (you record the sound separately from the acting and match them together later).

2. Write who will be acting what role below.

Guidelines:

Length – 5 - 15 minutes

All members must have lines to say and present them in the role they are playing.

(A translated version of the scene you and your group are presenting must be handed in as a group).

Please write down the Act and the scene your group will be performing along with the line numbers in the space provided above.

You are to choose a scene no one else has chosen so first come first serve (Tell Mr. Boyd when you have decided).

You will be given two - three classes to work in this project. 

Once you have recorded the material, you must provide the video on a USB. 

Rubric:

You will be marked on:

a). the quality of the performance (no reading, clarity when speaking, acting ability, smooth transitions and the ability to deliver information clearly)

b). the written translation of the text must typed and laid out just like a drama.

c). Make sure to include where people are moving

d). All members of the group should have equal effort into the production of the final project.  On a separate piece of paper, provide everyone’s jobs in producing the product.

Note: any unequal distribution of jobs will be reported by the group members and appropriate marks will be deducted.

e). How accurately the translation of the text was done.

f). Performance was done within the appropriate time.

g). The final project is put on a USB and ready to play on the due date.

Note:  There are no extensions to this project, or changed dates.  All presentations and material must be handed in on March 20^th.
